Dry Jet Mixing Method

Overview

DJM Method stabilizes soil properties of a soft ground and increases strength of the ground by feeding an improvement material of particulate form into the soft ground, and forcibly mixing the original soil with the improvement material causing chemical reaction between them.

Features

  1. To meet the type of available equipment and required soil strengths, a suitable type of improvement material can be flexibly selected and a mixing ratio can be determined according to the requirement. It is more economical that mixing particulate material with soil uses less amount of improvement material than the case of slurry.

  2. As long as the largest particle's diameter is 5 mm or less, it is possible to use a wide range of particulate materials such as slag, flue-gas gypsum, etc., not to mention quick lime and cement.

  3. Sprinkling an improvement material spread in an area, followed by mixing with mixing blades, reduces unevenness in the distribution of the improvement material, enabling determination at will of the reformed strength in a wide area.

  4. The operational factors such as applicable depth, mixing-rotation rate, insertion/pull-out speed, improvement-material-feeding amount, etc. can be automatically logged, and be easily controlled.

  5. Requiring no water in the operation avoids dirtying the work site and also causing the treated ground to elevate unintentionally, eliminating necessity of disposing soil.

  6. The closed system covering from the supply of the improvement material through the jetting stage during the work gets rid of creating dust. It is a quiet and safe method causing less noise and vibration.

  7. The system's main body is self-propelled, making the transit and the setting easier. An automated improvement-material-feeding device enables a power-saving and efficient operation.
