Cement Deep Mixing Method

Overview

CDM Method is a mechanically-mixing type deep-layer mixing treatment construction method, which injects cement slurry hardening-material into a soft ground, mixes them, and makes the ground soil chemically solidify.

Application Method

(1) Set up
A ground-improvement device is set up at a designated point.
(2) Penetration
The device penetrates, mixing an improvement material which is discharged from the lower tip of the agitation shaft.
(3) Treatment at the lower tip
Upon confirming the device having reached the planned depth, the shaft's lower tip is moved up and down, continuing the mixing.
(4) Pull out
The device is pulled up, continuing the mixing.
(5) Solidification
The treated soil solidifies under the effect of hydration reaction of cement, etc.

Features

1. Superior in seismic resistance, assuring the strength as required.
2. Construction time significantly shortened.
3. No consolidation settlement of the ground after the treatment.
4. Significant cost reduction possible by making the treatment areas in a wall or a grid form.
5. Highly-reliable construction management realized by centralized control of construction-handling matters.
6. Less vibration and noise compared to other ground-improvement methods.
7. Less position-deviation compared to other ground-improvement methods. Especially, CDM-LODIC method can minimize to the least the effects on the surrounding ground or constructions.
